Rev. Corey Turnpenny

Rev. Corey Turnpenny (she/her) is an ordained elder in the United Methodist Church.

In 2019, Corey felt the Spirit’s call to plant an alternative church for those who, like her, feel closest to the Divine in nature. By June 2021 Church in the Wild held their first public worship service at Sky Lake Camp & Retreat center where they've continued to worship every Sunday since. Previous to planting Church in the Wild, Corey served the community in Whitney Point, NY for eight years.

Corey earned her Masters in Divinity from Colgate Rochester Crozer Divinity School and now lives with her spouse their 2 kids and 2 dogs in Windsor, NY.
